The Red Rock Central Community Education Program along with Ford Law Office of Windom will be offering 2 free workshops.

The first one will be FARM TRANSFER AND ESTATE PLANNING.

This class will cover the opportunities and risks in planning for farming family succession (farm estate planning). We will discuss the use of Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Partnerships, Corporations and Limited Liability Companies in the farming context. Learn how to make your estate or farm business less attractive to predators in our sue-happy world while allowing for control by you or your spouse. Also we will discuss the tax laws and the ways to pass your estate with the least cost to you or your family beneficiaries. The class will be instructed by Hannon T. Ford, Attorney and Counselor at Law. It will be held on Monday March 22, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Lamberton High School Library. The class will last approximately 2 hours. Students should bring a pen, and there will be handouts. Pre-registration is required so there will be enough handouts for all participants. Call 752-7361 by Wednesday, March 17, 2010 to register.

The second class will be MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND LONG TERM CARE PLANNING (NURSING HOME PLANNING).

It is a thorough workshop about long term care (nursing home) planning options. The recently enacted federal and state laws concerning asset planning and long term care insurance can cause difficulties and also create great opportunities. Come learn about what you can do now or later to plan for the possibility of long term care. Whether your goal is to retain control of your assets, leave an inheritance to your loved ones or choose how you want to be taken care of if you become disabled, this workshop is for you. The instructor will be Hannon T. Ford, Attorney and Counselor at Law. It will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Lamberton High School Library. The class will last approximately 2 hours. Students should bring a pen, and there will be handouts. Pre-registration is required so there will be enough handouts for all participants. Call 752-7361 by Wednesday, March 24, 2010 to register.
