The Lamberton Jazz Festival, in its 37th year has kept its focus and goals of the day quite simple; promoting jazz education and appreciation through a festival day with professional jazz clinicians and performances. The day is not competitive in nature, rather providing a positive and encouraging environment for student musical growth.

The Lamberton Jazz Festival was founded in 1974 by Martin Meidl and The Music Mart . The Music Mart organized and sponsored the Festival for its first fifteen years. Presently it is sponsored by Lamberton Community Education, the Red Rock Central Music Parents, Red Rock community organizations & businesses, SMAHC, The Music Mart, Yamaha Corporation of America , Conn-Selmer, Ludwig, and Jupiter.

This activity is made possible by a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts and Humanities Council (SMAHC) with funds appropriated by the McKnight Foundation and/or Minnesota State Arts Board with funds appropriated by the State Legislature.
