Project Hook-ups

Feasibility Study Fee:      $400.00
This is the only cost until construction is completed.

Construction Cost:            $12,000—$15,000*
*This cost can be placed on your property taxes as a special assessment to be paid over 29-39 years.  Approximate cost is $850-$900 per year. 

Current Monthly Water Rates:    $22.00 base charge
                                                                    $2.20/1,000 gallons used.

Cash Up Front Hook-ups

Feasibility Study Fee:      $400.00

Construction Cost:            Dependant on distance from existing water line.  An approximate cost can be determined.  Please call the office for more information.

*The feasibility study fee, capacity charge, and construction costs are to be paid up front when construction is complete.

Current Monthly Water Rates:    $22.00 base charge

Billing:  In December, billing packets are mailed to each customer .  Each packet includes payment cards, rate charts, and return envelopes for the following twelve months. 

· Meters are to be read on the 1st of each month.  Payment is due by the 10th of each month and must be postmarked by the 15th of each month. 

· LATE FEES: 

· If payment is not postmarked by the 15th of each month, a reminder notice and $10.00 late charge will be sent. 

· If payment is not received by the 15th of the following month, a disconnect letter will be sent. 

· If payment is not received within 30 days of the disconnect letter, water service will be disconnected. 

· There is a $60.00 reconnect fee.  Before water will be turned on, all charges must be paid.

· If you have credit on your account, please continue to send the payment cards.  You cannot combine two months usage onto one payment card. 

· If you have a substantial water increase, please indicate reason on the payment card.  This can help track water leaks.

Rental Properties:  If renter pays for water and moves, the existing and new renter need to call the office 507-628-4201 or email Nicki. 

Seasonal Disconnects/Reconnects:  For seasonal customers, RRRWS can shut off service.  There is no
Disconnect/Reconnect fees.

Please allow 48 hours for service to be reconnected or disconnected.  If service disconnect or reconnect are made before the 15th of the month, the $21.00 monthly charge will be waived.

Service Calls:  If you are experiencing low pressure, cloudy water, or have a leak before the meter, please call the office 507-628-4201.  Depending on the problem, a Water Operator may do a site visit to address the problem. 

Relocation projects: A cost estimate is required for moving a meter.  Please call or email Nicki or Deb at the office 507-628-4201.

Water Leaks:  If you notice a water leak along the pipeline or before your meter, please contact RRRWS immediately.

Red Rock Rural Water System provides water service to rural residents to nine counties in southwestern Minnesota.  The most feasible option for obtaining rural water service is to be included on a project.  Typically projects occur every 2-3 years.  RRRWS also offers cash up front services.
