  We had a celebration for our 60Th anniversary,
1940-2000 this year.
Books we have for sale at the Museum:
"St. Mathews Lutheran Church"  100 Years of Grace, 1872-1972.  This book is
a Centennial Anniversary of the church, and gives a detailed history of the
life and members of the church from its beginnings up to 1972.  There are
family pictures and biographies.  $2.00



"A History of the early Episcopal Church of The St. John's Mission"  This
book tells the history of the church, and its people.  The church is
currently a part of our museum, and was moved to Morton in 1997.  $12.00


"Pioneer Days"  In Renville County  This book was first published by the
Olivia  Times on the occasion of the Renville County  Old Settlers Reunion
that took place on June 12th and 13th, 1913.  This book gives first hand
accounts of pioneer life in Renville county, from settlement to the
Conflict
of 1862, along with pictures of many county historical figures.  $1.25


"Swords into Plowshares"  By Dean Simmons.  This book tells the story of
the
Minnesota POW camps that were set up during WW II, and the camps that were
in Renville County. $18.50


"Looking Back"  A History of Agriculture in Renville County, by Frank D.
Svoboda.  This book takes a look at how agriculture has grown and changed
in
Renville county, from the early settlers to modern farming practices.

"China Travel Log"  An American Teacher in China.  By Janice Neidhart, a
resident author of Renville County.  This book tells the story of an
American teacher who goes to china to teach English, and her experiences
and reflections on the trip.  $17.00


"The Battle of Birch Coulee"  This book contains two stories by men who had
first hand experienced with the Conflict of 1862, and the battle at birch
coulee on Sept. 2nd.  The first is by Hon J.J. Egan, and the second is by
Bob Boyd.  $3.50


"Joseph Renville"  Father of Renville County.  By Laura Belle.  This book
tells the life story of Joseph Renville, for whom our County and the Town
of Renville is named.  $3.50

"A Chronological History of the Renville County Historical Society"  60th
Anniversary celebration, 1940-2000!  This book tells the history of the
society from its beginnings in 1940 at the Olivia courthouse, to the
present.  Lists board members and there terms.  Tells how the organization
developed and the activities they have been involved with.  $2.00
