This picture is of Little Crow and was taken by us at the Lower
Sioux Agency
(Caption reads: Little Crow, an eloquent speaker and dignified man,
was the most active and influential chief of the Lower Sioux. Although
he was intially opposed to the war, he later agreed to lead his fellow
Dakota in battle. Little Crow was murdered by white settlers on July
3, 1863 as he was picking berries near Hutchinson.)+
