Course Title
German I introduces the study
of the language through the skills of speaking, listening,
reading, and writing.
Many vocabulary and grammar exercises and drills are used, and
conversational level German
is stressed. Cultural knowledge and awareness are also a
big part of the learning
in first-year German.
Textbook used: Deutsch
Aktuell, 1993 (EMC Publishing). The class also uses live-
action videotapes, student
workbooks, and audiotapes.
