What Discovery Gardens is About
The purpose of Discovery Gardens is to provide your child with adequate
opportunities to participate in child development programs that enable
him/her to enter school with the necessary skills and behavior and family
stability and support to progress and flourish. The program is designed
to meet your child's individual needs and stimulate learning in all developmental
areas - physical, social, emotional and intellectual. Children attend preschool
two times per week. Discovery Gardens is administered by the Red Rock Central
Early Childhood Family Education and Learning Readiness Programs. The program
is staffed by Early Childhood specialists.
Program goals: increase interest in learning, improve social skills and
ability to work in a group, increase self-reliance, increase interest and
excitement about school. Children must be 3-1/2 years old by September
1, of the year they enroll to attend Discovery Gardens.
Class Schedule
Class meets two days per week for 3-1/4 hours. Classes begin in September
and run for 24 weeks. Classes are held in Lamberton on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 8:00 to 11:15 am and from 12:00 noon - 3:15 pm. Classes are held in
Jeffers on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:05 - 3:20 pm. School bus service
can be used coming in the morning or going home in the afternoon. Students
need to be brought in or picked up at midday.
Fees
Tuition is $6.00/week/child. Fees can be adjusted accordingly if necessary.
Tuition may be paid by the week, month, semester or year.
Parent Involvement
Parents are asked to sign up for Early Childhood Family Education classes
or participate in the Discovery Gardens classroom twice/month.
