
The purpose of Discovery Gardens is to give children an opportunity to participate in a program that enables them with skills and behaviors to enter school. The Pre-K class is designed to meet the needs of children in all developmental areas, social, physical, emotional, and intellectual. The goals of the program are to:

social skills
-ability
to work in a group
-increase
self reliance
-increase
interest and
excitement about school
There are a possible 4 sections of Discovery Gardens. Each class meets 2 days a week ( 2 ½ -3 hours each class.) Sections available in Lamberton are:
Mon. & Wed. Morning 8:00-11:00
Tues. & Thur. Morning 8:00-11:00
Tues. & Thur. Afternoon 12:00-3:00
There is 1
section available in Jeffers :
Mon. & Wed. Afternoon 12:30-3:00

Curriculum
The curriculum
provides a wide variety of hands on learning experiences that make learning fun
and meaningful. The classroom has many learning centers: science, art, library,
dramatic play, cognitive, manipulative, large muscle and sensory. Activities
revolve around different themes. Field trips and speakers are also included
during the year.

Transportation
Your child can
ride the rural bus route system 1 way- to come to school or return home, they
will need to be picked up at the midday point.

Requirements
Children must
be at least 3 ½ by the 1st day of school in September.
Parents are
asked to sign up for Early Childhood Family Education classes or participate in
the classroom 2 times during the year.
Tuition for Discovery Gardens is $8.00/week. There is a
reduced rate for those families who qualify. A school lunch form can determine
this.
