Red Rock Central District No. 2884

A special meeting of the Board of Education, District No. 2884, was held in the Lamberton Board Room on Monday, November 14, 2005. Members present were: Clarke, Derickson, Kelsey, Mattison, Moldan, and Myers. Meyer was absent. Superintendent Brennan, Principal Olson, Denise Clarke, Jenifer Goblish, Bryce Pack, Deb Gode, Donna Larson, Jason Kedl, Jeff Shaner, Mary Shaner, Derek Stevenson, Steve Wegman, Brian Walker, Mark Highby, Lori Highby, Brenna Highby, and Marge Conyers were also in attendance.

Chairman Derickson called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m. and welcomed all the guests in attendance. She explained that the reason for the meeting was to gain input from the coaches and sponsors regarding cutting practices in our extra-curricular programs. She went on to say that at the September Board meeting we heard from parents regarding this issue and at this meeting we would be focusing on the coaches and sponsors.

Superintendent Brennan introduced Bryce Pack, Athletic Director, and asked him to say a few words as an overview of the school district’s cutting practices in the present and past.

Board members, coaches, and sponsors offered their viewpoints on the subject at hand and no decision was made by the Board of Education pertaining to a cutting policy or regulation at this time.

Chairman Derickson declared the meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
