Red Rock Central District No. 2884

Monday, November 8, 2004

 

A Special Meeting of the Board of Education, District #2884, was held in the Lamberton Board Room on Monday, November 8, 2004.  Members present were:  Clarke, Derickson, Gransee, and Imker.  Myers, Mattison, and Meyer were tardy.  Superintendent Brennan, Principal Olson, Scott Greenfield, David Moldan, and Denise Clarke were also in attendance.

 

Chairman Gransee called the meeting to order at 8:08 p.m.

 

Upon motion of Clarke, seconded by Myers and unanimously carried, to approve the ballot count as follows:  Precinct 1, four year term – Scott Greenfield – 378 votes, Kenov Engen – 206 votes, 4 write in ballots; Precinct 2, four year term – Craig Myers – 545 votes, 5 write in ballots; Precinct 3, four year term – Paula R. Derickson – 538 votes, 6 write in ballots; Director at Large – David Moldan – 1623 votes, 42 write in ballots.  Newly elected Board Members Scott Greenfield, Craig Myers, Paula R. Derickson, and David Moldan will take office as soon as possible after January 1, 2005.

 

Upon motion of Myers, seconded by Imker and unanimously carried, to have Superintendent Brennan look into purchasing a low-mile, late model van for the district.  If the timing of a purchase would not correspond with a regular board meeting, Superintendent Brennan has the authority to make the purchase.

 

Discussion was held on the following:  High school breakfast will continue for now, School Board Convention in January, Community meeting on November 16th, Band/Choir trip, options for shop and/or wellness center.

 

The meeting was declared adjourned by Chairman Gransee at 9:53 p.m.
