The Board discussed having 6th graders in

this year’s musical. It was understood
that our practice is to not allow 6th graders involvement in
secondary programs but this was a special situation.
Lead Teacher Riley reported the following: On October 5th our 1st

will be hosting that day. Last Friday we
completed the fall NWEA testing. We are
now having our kindergarteners and 1st graders taking the NWEA’s instead of DIBELS tests as in the past. October 8-12 was Fire Prevention Week. Grandparent’s Day will be October 26th. The children will present a short program at
1:30 in the gym and then the grandparents are invited to visit the
classrooms. October 29-November 2 is Red
Ribbon Week. On October 31st
we will be having a masquerade ball in our gym.
We had no fire drills or lock downs so far this month because of not
wanting to interrupt the NWEA testing.
Principal Olson offered the following report: I have visited the classrooms of all staff
that will have informal observations this year and have completed the first
round of formal observations of untenured staff. NWEA testing is complete in this
building. We have had 2 fire drills, 1
