Members present were: Clarke, Derickson, Gransee, Imker, Meyer, and Myers. Mattison was tardy. Lead Teacher Westerman reported that school is off to a good start. There have been many comments on the good job the custodian and his crew did on the building this summer. There are about 20 more students in school this year. The Kindergarten has 45 students. Open House was held the Wednesday before school started with about 50% of kids and their parents attending. Project Wisdom is off and running under Stacy Warner’s leadership. Jeff Shaner has put up volleyball nets on the playground making another activity for the kids at recess.
The following was reported by Administrative Assistant Olson: A representative from Jostens will be meeting with our Senior and Sophomore classes on Wednesday. Individual pictures will be taken on Thursday. After attending workshops this summer, Mrs. Altermatt has requested some computers for the annual staff to help them with putting the annual together. They will pay back the district within the next few years. On behalf of the Target and Tiger Woods Foundation Start Something program, Colleen Kietzer has been invited to be recognized for completing Start Something Part 1 by attending the Target World Challenge golf tournament in Los Angeles. She and a guardian will receive an all expense paid trip to Los Angeles in December to act as an honorary standard bearer for one of the eight professional golf teams competing in the tournament. Bryce Pack did some checking with Coca-Cola regarding putting in a milk machine. Director Gransee mentioned that the Redwood ADA would grant us $1500 towards the purchase of a milk machine. We had a new teacher in-service before school started. The new teachers are working out well. Donna Larson would like the band to be marching soon.
Superintendent Brennan commented that with the change in leadership in both the elementary and high school in the past year, Mr. Olson and Mrs. Westerman have done an excellent job.

Discussion was held on District goal setting, future planning, and the superintendent’s evaluation.
The meeting was declared adjourned by Chairman Gransee at 10:00 p.m.
