Red Rock Central District 2884
Thursday, July 21, 2016
The regular
monthly meeting of the Board of Education, District No. 2884 was held in the
Board Room in Lamberton on Thursday, July 21, 2016. Members present were: Bierl, Clarke, Hansen,
Kelsey, Rasmussen, Rogotzke, and Stavnes. Others in attendance: Superintendent
Olson and Doreen Kronback.
Chairman
Rogotzke called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
The Pledge
of Allegiance was recited.
Upon motion of Hansen, seconded by Rasmussen, and unanimously carried
to approve the Agenda, June 20, 2016 Board Minutes and Treasurer’s report as
presented.
Superintendent
Olson reported the following: The swings are out of the ground in Jeffers and
ready to transport to Lamberton; Tentative date for building new playground
equipment is August 20, working on getting that date moved up, considering
installing playground fence prior to installation of equipment; Request from an
Auction Clerking firm to rent Jeffers building on October 1, would charge
$100.00 per day and require that they pay for floor repair if damage occurred;
Pre-K may have to add another ½ day of class to be in compliance with total
numbers, Friday morning class would be considered; Applied for and were
approved for a Variance for Mrs. Manthei to serve as the Autistic Spectrum
Disorder teacher, she has worked in this area and works well with the students,
and Mrs. Smith has paid the last installment on her Driver’s Training bill to
the district.
Upon motion
of Clarke, seconded by Kelsey and unanimously carried, to approve all claims
for payment in the amount of $140,784.37.
Receipts were $1,003,711.40.
Upon motion
of Kelsey, seconded by Bierl and unanimously carried, to approve joining the
MSBA, with Association dues of $2,826.00 per year.
Upon motion of Clarke, seconded by Hansen, to approve the District’s
Long-Term Facility Maintenance Ten Year Plan Resolution for the District’s facilities
for 2017-2026. Roll call
vote. Those voting in favor:
Kelsey, Clarke, Stavnes, Hansen, Rasmussen, Bierl and Rogotzke. Those voting against: None. Motion carried.
Upon motion of Hansen, seconded by Kelsey, to approve the
Non-Certified Staff Contract for 2016 -2107 and 2017-2018. Those voting in favor: Kelsey, Clarke,
Hansen, Rasmussen, Bierl and Rogotzke. Abstaining: Stavnes.
Motion carried.
Upon motion
of Clarke, seconded by Stavnes and unanimously carried, to approve the
following bids for dairy and bread products, gasoline and diesel fuel, as
presented, with fueling being done where it is convenient for the driving staff.

meeting at 6:03 p.m.

regular monthly meeting will held Monday, August 15, 2016 starting at 7:00 p.m.
with a walk through the building at 6:30 p.m.
