The regular
monthly meeting of the Board of Education, District No. 2884, was held in the
elementary library in Jeffers on Monday, July 16, 2012. Members present were: Clarke, Erickson, Johnson, Kelsey, Rogotzke,
and Stavnes. Bierl was absent. A quorum of 6 was present. Superintendent Brennan, Joe Dietl, and Denise
Clarke were also in attendance.
Chairman Rogotzke
called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
The Pledge of
Allegiance was recited.
Upon motion of
Clarke, seconded by Stavnes and unanimously carried, to approve the agenda as
amended, the minutes of the June 18, 2012 meeting, and the treasurer’s report.
Upon motion of
Clarke, seconded by Johnson and unanimously carried, to pay claims in the
amount of $43,513.11. Receipts were
$307,916.27.
Upon motion of
Clarke, seconded by Erickson and unanimously carried, to award the following
bids for the 2012-2013 school year:

Upon motion of
Kelsey, seconded by Johnson and unanimously carried, to approve membership in
the following:
Minnesota Rural Education
Association - $1,475
Minnesota School Boards
Association - $2,526
Upon motion of
Erickson, seconded by Clarke and unanimously carried, to increase our Hot Lunch
Program prices for the 2012-2013 school year as follows:
6-12 Grade Hot Lunch: $2.15
Elementary Hot Lunch: $1.95
6-12 Grade Breakfast: $1.20
Elementary Breakfast: $1.10
Upon motion of
Clarke, seconded by Johnson and unanimously carried, to approve the projected
2012-2013 budget of $4,428,056 as presented.
Upon motion of Johnson
and seconded by Stavnes, to adopt the resolution in regard to the $1,200,000
General Obligation Aid Anticipation Certificates of Indebtedness. Upon roll call vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof:
Erickson, Kelsey, Johnson, Stavnes, Clarke, and Rogotzke;
And the following
voted against the same: None;
Bierl was absent;
Whereupon said
resolution, having received the affirmative votes of two-thirds of the members,
was declared duly passed and adopted.

seconded by Erickson and unanimously carried, to set fees for the 2012-2013
school year as follows:

Upon motion of
Clarke, seconded by Johnson and unanimously carried, to adopt the attached
Health and Safety Policy pending possible modifications made at the next
regular board meeting and the projected budget as presented.
Discussion was
held regarding the Board Memorial Fund, of which the Board agreed on a
$20/member donation, Redwood County Collaborative, Student Open Enrollment, and
having the Building Committee go through both buildings.

Clarke, seconded by Stavnes and unanimously carried, to adjourn at 8:15 p.m.
