Red Rock Central District No. 2884

A special meeting of the Board of Education, District No. 2884, was held in the elementary school library in Jeffers on Wednesday, May 2, 2001. Members present were: Derickson, Imker, Gransee, Mattison, Moldan, and Myers. Superintendent John Brennan, Wendy Meyer, Scott Nickel, Floyd Westerman, and Judy Westerman were also in attendance.

Chairman Gransee called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m.

A total of three bids were received for the purchase of the seven (7) acres of School District owned land near the Jeffers Elementary building. All bids that were received were "as is" with light poles still in place.

1. Scott Nickel - $800/acre - $5,600 total

2. Dallas Giese - $5,000 total

3. Floyd Westerman - $400/acre - $2,800 total

Mr. Westerman raised his bid to $1000/acre and Mr. Nickel remained at $800/acre. It was agreed upon that a down payment of 10% of the purchase price would be paid immediately, with the balance due upon presentation of clear title. Superintendent Brennan agreed to have the scoreboard and the power transformers removed.

Upon motion of Imker, seconded by Mattison and unanimously carried, to accept the bid of $1,000/acre from Floyd Westerman with the scoreboard and power transformers removed.

Discussion was held on the EEOC, Staff Development Central Committee Meeting, and elementary/junior high issues.

Upon motion of Moldan, seconded by Myers and unanimously carried, to adjourn the meeting at 9:11 p.m.
