Meet and Confer with members of certified staff.

Lead Teacher Riley reported that February is “I Love to Read”, Dental Health, and Black History month and the students have been doing various activities coordinating with these events.  February 9-13 was a special dress up week.  On March 2nd we will be reading Dr. Seuss books in honor of this birthday and the cooks will serve green eggs and ham and birthday cake for lunch.  February 13th was the 100th day of school.  We also had our Valentine’s Day party on that day.  Last week the Kindergarten through 5th graders took an NWEA short inventory test to see how they are doing so far in reading, language, and math.  Our next Integration Day will be March 6th.  The 1st and 2nd graders will be heading to Wabasso and the 3rd and 4th graders will be in WWG.  This is the last actual “on site” Integration Day for this year.   I’m in the process of communicating with the superintendent from WWG to get a meeting together to discuss how things are going with the Integration program.  This will involve teacher representatives who are in our collaborative.  We are having our students enter the Zaner-Bloser Handwriting contest again this year.  Samples must be sent in by the end of this week.  One student sample per grade is entered.

Principal Olson reported that Snow Week was a great week and students observed the days with respect.  Coronation was held Saturday night and the dance followed.  The One Act play was in competition but didn’t advance.  The play was given to the student body and was well received.  The Spring play will be presented March 30 and 31.  Next years’ schedule process has begun.  The class trip is close to finalization with about ˝ of the class heading to Colorado on April 1st.  They will be taking a bus, trying to keep expenses down.  We are preparing a brochure to take to Highwater Ethanol to make sure new employees know about us and the highlights of this school.

Upon motion of Clarke, seconded by Westerman and unanimously approved, to pay claims in the amount of $76,019.96.  Receipts were $453,848.46.
